IDYLLIC LANDSCAPES: WRITERS, ART AND LANDSCAPE - annual tour last two weeks of May
Join Trisha for two wonderful weeks exploring the landscape, literature, art, architecture and life of specifically selected islands and areas of Greece...from the peace of car-free Hydra through the Peloponnese to Patrick and Leigh Fermor's home at Kardamyli then to the Ionian Island of Corfu. Writers, books, poetry and art will be discussed with visits to writers and artists homes and landscapes.
20th century writers such as Charmian Clift, George Johnston, Patrick Leigh Fermor, Lawrence and Gerald Durrell, Tim Winton, Leonard Cohen, Kazantsakis, Cafavy, andLouise de Bernieres amongst many others will be discussed. Full reading list supplied - no pre knowledge required, just an interest in this magnificent part of the world that inspired so many creative people over the centuries.
There will also be visits to some outstanding private gardens, homes and properties.
